The University of Oxford is a collegiate research university, the oldest university in the English-speaking world, and one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the world. Oxford has educated a wide range of notable alumni, including 28 prime ministers of the United Kingdom and many heads of state and government around the world. 72 Nobel Prize laureates, 3 Fields Medalists, and 6 Turing Award winners have studied, worked, or held visiting fellowships at the University of Oxford.
Programme Introduction
Oxford Mansfield College Online School Programme is officially hosted by Mansfield of Oxford University and taught by instructors assigned by Mansfield College, culminating in the awarding of an official certificate of completion to the student.
Within two weeks, students can acquire a good knowledge and understanding of the subject they choose. At the end of the class, all the students need to finish a thesis and present to the instructors. The best-performing students will receive a recommendation letter.

Instructors are selected and assigned by the Mansfield College, Oxford. The programme blends interactive live classes with office hour. Students can engage directly with Oxford experts and experience the authentic Tutorial System.

Output
All the students will complete an academic output (e.g. thesis or others) within two weeks and present it to the instructors and classmates. Students will experience topic setting, literature reading, in-depth research, and academic writing, greatly enhance their educational and research skills.
Classes are delivered in small, seminar-style groups with a maximum of 15 students, which enables instructors to track each student’s learning progress, deliver tailored academic guidance. Additionally, bilingual TAs from top universities will facilitate dynamic classroom interactions and also offer after-class support.

Nikkita Ngalande
DPhil in Mathematics
Nikkita is a DPhil student under the supervision of Rama Cont, at the CDT in Mathematics of Random Systems. She currently works as a tutor at Oxford MESME Maths Circles, providing advanced mathematics learning for top British mathematics students to help them better utilize their strengths. Her research interests are at the intersection of mathematical modeling in finance and machine learning.

Class requirements:
- A computer with camera and microphone; Students need to keep the camera on and wear collared shirts during the teaching time
How to apply:
Step 1: Application Materials
To qualify for the Mansfield College Online Winter School, applicants must satisfy one of the following criteria:
- Standardized Test Scores: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 90 (pre-Jan 2026)/ 5 (post-Jan 2026), or equivalent.
- Academic transcripts: relevant subjects with grades of A or above
Note: Applicants without standardized scores may contact a program consultant to arrange a complimentary online or telephone English interview. Admission eligibility will be granted upon successful completion. If the language threshold is not met, we will assess the applicant's broader academic profile to recommend suitable alternative programs.
Step 2: Registration & Official Admission
Upon passing the language proficiency verification, applicants must complete the registration and tuition payment to secure their place in the program. Once payment is confirmed, students will receive an official admission email from the Mansfield College Online Winter School.
Step 3: Pre-Program Assignment
To enable instructors to assess students' academic backgrounds and to help participants clarify their personal learning objectives, the Mansfield College Online Winter School requires all students to complete a pre-program assignment prior to the start of the session. The full prompt, formatting requirements, and the online submission link will be distributed alongside the official admission email.
