Game Theory and Global Strategy

This committee aims to expose students to the complexities of strategic decision-making in international affairs. By analyzing fictionalized global scenarios, we'll delve into game theory's application in fostering cooperation and resolving conflicts on the world stage, considering the challenges posed by uncertain or asymmetric information. Through case studies and interactive simulations inspired by strategy games, students will grasp negotiation tactics, coalition building, and the mathematical dynamics of trust-building in a hyperconnected global economy. This course equips future leaders with the analytical tools and diplomatic skills needed to navigate the challenges of the 21st century and contribute to a more cooperative and interconnected world.

Our commitee wil have a heavy Machine Learning / AI component, but also focus extensively on producing qualitative insights from human interactions and larger economic players. Students will learn state of the art data collection techniques, and the sorts of patterns and discrepencies they can pay attention to at the global scale to make meaningful predictions about their environments. Each lecture will focus on a different sector of the economy that we can optimize with meaningful prediction. Students will present their learnings through a final case study, where they will outline data-collection and prediction strategies within a certain environment.

MEDIA AT OUR FINGERTIPS: THE GLOBAL MARKETPLACE

This forum represents some of the best and brightest young future leaders. The exploration and understanding of complicated issues, such as global wealth disparity, are achieved with little difficulty by anyone in this room. But in the era of social media and constant consumption, an important skill set lies in breaking down our ivory towers. Communicating complex ideas in understandable and accessible ways remains a rare attribute for many of the world's best academics. In this workshop, students will get hands-on experience utilizing new media to make one of today's most pressing issues digestible to a 21st-century audience.
