Introduction to UAL
University of the Arts London (UAL), boasting over 150 years of history, is Europe's largest university for art and design, ranked No. 2 globally in the QS World University Rankings for Art and Design for six consecutive years. It consists of six world-renowned art and design colleges, including Camberwell College of Art, Central Saint Martins, Chelsea College of Art, London College of Communication, London College of Fashion, and Wimbledon College of Art. Introduction to UAL Summer School
In 2024, ASEEDER established a strategic partnership with UAL to provide Chinese students with high-quality art design courses. Students will have an opportunity to gain insights from courses such as Product Design or Fashion PR and Marketing, immerse themselves in world-class educational resources, and gain a comprehensive understanding of the diversity and depth of the art and design field. Through 10 days of learning, this programme will enhance students' professional skills, broaden their international perspective, and lay a solid foundation for their future design careers. Official Customized Courses led by UAL Instructors
This programme is officially offered by UAL and taught by senior professional instructors, providing a comprehensive and cutting-edge learning experience for students passionate about fashion and product design. Through professional academic lectures, workshops, case studies, practical assignments, and other forms to help students understand professional knowledge, stimulate the generation of ideas and design thinking, laying a solid foundation for future career development!
Small-group Classes with a Maximum of 16 Students
Based on the classic teaching pattern of "Tutorial", the courses of UAL Summer School, with a set in small-group classes of no more than 16 people, ensure that each student receives detailed guidance from the tutor. Students will be provided with a UAL student card, which gives them access to the campus's excellent resources, including the library's extensive collection, the fabric library, workshops, exhibitions, etc. They will be able to experience and learn about cutting-edge design concepts, materials, and tools to expand their outlooks on the fashion industry. At the same time, students will be able to foster a collaborative mindset and inspiration through collaborative practice projects and creative workshops.
Field Research in the Fashion Industry
Through visits to art organizations/screen printing studio, and museums, students will realize that design is an integration of brand culture, customer needs, and craftsmanship. Through interaction with industry executives, they will learn about the workflow and challenges within the industry, gain a clearer understanding of their position in the fashion industry, and prepare for their future academic and career choices.
Official Certificate of Completion and Individual Programme Outcomes
Students who successfully meet the requirements for completion (90% or more class attendance, coursework submission, and presentation of individual outcomes) will receive an official Certificate of Completion from UAL. The outcome completed during the course is not only a collection of knowledge and skills, but can also be used as part of a future portfolio to support further study
Exploring Cambridge and London Cultural Landmarks
The University of Cambridge is one of the world's most prestigious institutions, known for its academic excellence rich history, and distinctive architecture. Students will also visit classic British cultural landmarks such as The British Museum, one of the world's most famous museums, renowned for its rich history, cultural heritage, and vast collections. It is beneficial for students to learn more about British art and culture to enrich their design inspiration and creativity.

Product Design
Suitable forStudents who are interested in product design, and want to apply for product design, furniture design, or industrial design in the future.
How do designers generate ideas? Do you also dream of creating a hit product? In this beginners course, you'll be encouraged to experience the taste of what practicing product design involves, and look for ways of arriving at new possibilities.
Creative products are everywhere: Dyson hair dryer, art knife, Mason jar, Barcelona chair, Polaroid... These familiar products embody the ingenuity and creativity of the designers, bringing comfort and convenience to human life, and the creation of a hit product is often inseparable from the perfect combination of form, function, and material.
With an emphasis on the creative process and self-direction, it will take students from an initial brief through to their product design representation. They will also be introduced to various processes and vocabulary employed in 3D design, represent design concepts through drawing exercises and how to document ideas through sketches and photographs.. In addition, there will be some soft model making, this is a studio-based, rather than a workshop-based course. Using a four-stage design model (research, idea generation, development, and presentation), practice-based projects will guide students through the language and the practices of product design.

Fashion PR and Marketing
Suitable forStudents who are interested in the fashion industry, marketing, business and want to apply for fashion marketing, fashion PR and management in the future.
Why does the brand premium phenomenon exist? How to determine brand positioning? How to arouse customers' interest in buying products? This course will take you to understand the PR and marketing logic behind fashion brands and reveal the secrets of building a successful brand.
The course covers a full range of fashion marketing and PR skills, including how to analyze and research your customer, how to plan marketing and PR campaigns based on brand development, how to master contemporary digital language, how to identify and satisfy every single customer and create meaningful content and finally how to create and change a press pack into a media pack for your relationships with journalists, celebrities, and influencers.

Requirements
- English language level equivalent to IELTS level 5.5 or TOEFL 70
- Recommendation letter from your teacher as proof of English proficiency, or a phone/online interview with an ASEEDER staff member (since the programme is conducted entirely in English)

- Tuition, accommodation (Single room in UCL student residence), bus and tour fees for the Cambridge day trip, daily London subway commuting costs; and drop-off and pick-up fees between the airport and the destination; ASEEDER group leader service fee; international insurance; study materials (The design materials required for personal use are not included).
Excludes:
- International transportation costs to and from London (departure and arrival from Beijing/Shanghai/Shenzhen/Hong Kong, you can use a third-party service or ASEEDER's unified service);
- Breakfast, lunch, and dinner (As the programme will take place on campus or in the city, students may choose to eat in the restaurant on their own or at their own expense on the recommendation of the team leader.)
- Visa and visa service fee (optional)(ASEEDER's VIP visa service promises that if the visa is refused for reasons other than the client's own, the visa service fee will be fully refunded or the client will have the right to a second visa application free of the service fee, and the programme fee will also be fully refunded).
