Testimonials
During this summer vacation in the UK, I have tried out a lot of fun projects. For instance, at the Globe Theatre, our teacher taught us how to act in "A Midsummer Night's Dream," and I played one of the roles. T
— Student Wang
I love Europe and its natural and cultural landscapes. Participating in the ASEEDER program this time around exposed me to many novel things. The teachers at the Innovation Academy explained things vividly. We saw many plants and visited different community environmental protection projects, which made me aware of the importance of environmental protection.
— Student Sun
I made many friends in the two weeks and my social interactive and cooperative capabilities were greatly enhanced through many challenges. I think I liked the animal farm the most, because I saw, touched, and even fed many animals like turkey, and cavy which I had never seen before, which gave me the chance to become close to nature and other species. I will recommend my classmates or friends to attend the Key Steps program because it can give you experiences and views you can never get from travel.
— Student Huang
During the Galileo Camp, I made friends from different countries, including those from Korea, the USA, and Canada.
— Student Deng
During the interview, I met a lady in pink who was very friendly. She was sitting on a bench, intently listening to an English speech on her iPad, with her little dog obediently staying close by and not running far.
— Student Zhang
Within the short two weeks, I felt students' progress and growth. In the beginning, they were unwilling to talk, but gradually they can actively communicate with teachers. This was much more obvious in interviews. Some students even didn't like talking to people around, but they were confident in talking to English speakers or even foreigners from non-English-speaking countries. They also learned a lot from the short stay overseas through taking public transportation and going to local markets, to better know local people's life in London and the UK as a whole. This experience is an exercise for students and also a precious chance for them to grow up.
— Ms. Dong
The biggest inspiration I gained is that you have to travel and explore on your own to truly understand the world. I enjoyed the free time we had, and although ordering food by myself was quite a test of my courage and ability, it felt so liberating and relaxing not to follow the group. In Marx-Engels-Platz, I saw pigeons flying around, which was so beautiful and full of life. I also keep reminiscing about waving at passersby while taking the cable car up the Swiss mountains.
— Student Zou
The program brought an incomparable sense of achievement to students and I could tell that students were happy these days. Even in Lego Land, students also did research activities. What impressed me most was their street interviews. Although some were turned down in the beginning, they kept on trying until they succeeded in meeting the target. The completion of tasks enhanced their confidence and sense of achievement and satisfaction, which was also a reward for their efforts. Few programs can give both fun and learning experiences to students like Key Steps, so I think this is a rewarding program.
— Ms. Ma
