Invitation Letter
Dear delegates and faculty advisors,
It is my honor and pleasure to welcome you to the forty-third session of the Ivy League Model United Nations Conference, taking place in the heart of historic Philadelphia. ILMUNC XLIII will be held in Center City, Philadelphia, PA. For over four decades, ILMUNC has earned its place among the world's premier Model UN conferences - offering delegates an intellectually rigorous and genuinely welcoming immersion into international affairs. Our Secretariat, made up of dedicated University of Pennsylvania students spanning fields from bioengineering to political science, works year-round to uphold and build upon that legacy. ILMUNC XLIII will be no exception.
At ILMUNC, we are committed to delivering an exceptional experience for every delegate. Across our 28 committees, you may encounter everything from fantastical crisis scenarios to historical turning points to the most urgent challenges facing our world today. Whether you are a first-time delegate or a seasoned veteran, there is a place here for your voice and your ideas. And with students joining us from across the globe, every committee room will be enriched by the diversity of perspectives that makes ILMUNC truly special.
Beyond committee, ILMUNC offers a unique opportunity to connect with new peers and make memories that last well beyond the conference. You'll have access to everything Philadelphia has to offer, whether grabbing lunch at the iconic Reading Terminal Market right next door, or joining our group excursion for ice skating in front of City Hall. ILMUNC is also a chance to envision your future beyond high school: chat with the Penn students who run the conference, who are eager to share their college experiences, and take advantage of planned tours of Penn's campus. And of course, at the Delegate Festival and Delegate Dance, you'll celebrate your hard work and make friendships that will last long after the closing gavel.
ILMUNC is a chance to dive deep into your passions, hone your diplomatic skills, and bond with the next generation of global leaders, all while having a great time along the way. We truly cannot wait to meet you and witness everything you accomplish. We encourage you to explore our website and check back regularly for updates on registration, our Secretariat, committees, and delegate resources, as new information will be added throughout the year. On behalf of the entire ILMUNC XLIII Secretariat, we look forward to welcoming you to Philadelphia this January for what promises to be our most memorable exciting yet.
Best,
Jesse Van Doren
Secretary-General, ILMUNC XLIII
