Workshop Location: MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node
The MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node is MIT's official innovation hub in Hong Kong. As a key center for MIT’s teaching and research activities in Asia, it advances MIT’s global mission in education, research,and innovation collaboration. Leveraging MIT’s academic resources and pedagogical approach, the Node collaborates with MIT labs and research groups (e.g., MIT Game Lab) to deliver courses and projects, bringing MIT’s motto “Menset Manus” (Mind and Hand) to life in Hong Kong. Through interdisciplinary hands-on projects and innovation initiatives, the MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node fosters an immersive environment for learning and creative exploration for students from around the world.

Edward Cheng

Edward Cheng is the Technical Lead at MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node, where he coordinates education projects and technical courses. He has extensive experience in 3D fabrication, laser cutting, AI, IoT, and VR/AR, and previously served as a STEAM teacher and CoolThink teaching assistant. He holds a BSc in Computer Science from Macquarie University and multiple MIT x PRO certifications inAI, additive manufacturing, and VR/AR. Before joining MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node, he worked as an NLP technical solutions consultant at a Hong Kong Science Park startup, with experience in digital trust, eKYC, and mobile App development.
Nick Tsang
• Project Lead, MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node
• Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Product Design Instructor
Nick Tsang is a Project Lead at MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node, focusing on entrepreneurship and innovation projects. He uses technology, product design, and problem-solving methods to foster innovative thinking. Before joining MIT HK Innovation Node, he worked with the Inno Space team at the Hong Kong Productivity Council and later handled business development and marketing at an NLP technology startup. He is also founding a music technology startup and holds a BA in International Affairs and Political Science from Northeastern University.

Students aged 13-18
Two cohorts: Ages 13–15 and 16–18. General sessions will be joint.
■ Seats:
Maximum 30 participants per group.
■ Requirements:
- English language level equivalent to IELTS 6.0 / TOEFL 80 (exams taken prior to January 2026) / TOEFL 4.5 (exams taken January 2026 or later)
- A phone or online interview in English with an ASEEDER teacher if the above requirements are not met.

- Hong Kong endorsement fee
- Round-trip travel cost to and from Hong Kong, China

* The organizer offers an optional paid logistics package, including scheduled pick-up service from the Shenzhen port of entry or Hong Kong International Airport to the hotel in Hong Kong, accommodation in Hong Kong, and coordinated transportation during the program.
