Founded in 1981, the University of Macau (UM) is the only internationalised public comprehensive university in Macao, with a modern governance model. 80 per cent of its faculty members are from outside Macao. With English as the main medium of instruction, the university is committed to producing creative and socially responsible graduates with a global mindset and international competitiveness.

Macau is the meeting place of Eastern and Western cultures. After the 16th and 17th centuries, it has greatly promoted cultural exchanges between the East and the West, allowing Chinese traditional culture and cultures from Europe, Southeast Asia, and other places to collide, exchange, converge, and merge with each other for 400 years Long. About 1/5 of the entire Macao area is the product of the integration of Chinese and Western cultural exchanges.

Macau Culture Exploration

You will explore Macau in a unique way:

  • Making "Macau in My Eyes" Micro Film: You will make a group in 5 or 6 and decide a topic related toMacau. With the visits,  research and team work, you will complete a micro film of 3-5 minutes.
  • City Challenge Macau: each team will travel on public transport, taking the "City Challenge Book," exploring Macau culture in depth
  • Macau Culture Exploration: Fisherman's Wharf, Macau Tower, Macau Matsu, Macau Ruins of St. Paul's, etc.  to taste Macau snacks, experience the essence of Portuguese cuisine, and collect micro-film materials
